Thank you for sharing this. I did not read your caption with the name of this man. Such a different setting from where I know him from. I recognised him quickly and knew so well about the accident of which he speaks. That is one of the loveliest 3 minute stories I have ever heard. Maybe THE loveliest! And, as he says, “It is true”.
Way back in 2004, I had a conversation with a professor who had studied and written about what goes on in the brain as people die and I see similarities between the science and what he says.
Lovely yet… what is going on in this world now?
Well, his wife was allowed to shout at him, and I can believe that did help him come out of the coma and almost certainly inspired all who heard her shouting. In 2012, I had the fortune to be able to go onto a hospital ward and save a life, of someone every worker on that ward had given up on. Ten years on, that person is well and thriving. In 2022, I could have helped someone on a hospital ward, but Covidian workers prevented me going onto the ward and the consultant told the patient not to listen to Roger Smith about the lethality of the drugs being used on that ward. This is wrong.
We each need to team up with the person or people we trust most and do what we believe we are here to do. Some may have no feelings about having been put on this planet by; God, the universe, our parents or whoever may have sent us here yet…
I am remembering how, shortly after becoming a quite extreme activist, I drove to see the loveliest Christian man I know. I told him, “I do not have the faith you have – – – – everyday now I know I am doing God’s work.” I said this as a person who does not attend church services and has not opened a bible for a few years.
Our best advice maybe as above, “Team up with the person, or people, you trust most.” That, I see as, the sixth of the seven habits that Stephen R. Covey shared with the world. It needs to be what we do habitually. Covey called it synergizing.
