Sorry that I ignored your questions about ‘immunity’

PART 1

I think that anyone may improve their ‘immunity’ at any time, yet first we need to check what we mean by immunity.

I wonder if we have been misled by those who manipulate language because of their wishes to control us. There probably is no such thing as immunity and what we really need to talk about is our body’s defences against microscopic enemies.

We may possibly improve/bolster our body’s defences against microscopic enemies through:

  • coming into contact with pathogens
  • improving nutrition
  • getting outdoors more during daylight hours
  • spending more time with supportive people
  • perhaps in many other ways

It would seem that bolstering our body’s defences against microscopic enemies needs to be an ongoing process, just as we might continually improve the battlements if living in a castle that is prone to all kinds of attack.

With the castle analogy, thicker and taller walls may be desirable yet we would also need to pay attention to the quality of mortar between stone/concrete/brick. Also a castle is likely to have wooden floor and roof components and protecting these from insect damage and rot may in the long-term turn out to be as important as any other consideration.

My point, perhaps, is to use every means necessary to improve our body’s defences yet beware of sales people who turn up at the castle gate selling weird untested building materials. Beautiful foam cladding that absorbs the shock of cannon balls may seem attractive but not if it bursts into flames, giving off toxic fumes when hit by a single flaming arrow.

Tried and tested castle design along the lines used at Jericho and Troy will see off most invaders. Do you remember what the texts tell us happened to those two exceptional fortresses?

The Fortress City of Jericho: The walls were destroyed by noise! Perhaps this story is a warning for us to beware of lies/propaganda?

The Fortress City of Troy: The Trojan’s made the mistake of inviting some very obvious and poorly understood foreign materials inside. This was in the form of what came to be known as The Trojan Horse. The enemy spilled out of the horse making the normally impenetrable walls useless. Perhaps this story is a warning for us to beware of allowing anything weird and poorly understood under our skin.

PART 2 (not about immunity!)

Please remember:

– Hyper- means over, such as hyper-sonic is very fast?
– Hypo – means under, such as hypo-dermic means under the skin?

So, hypo-manic is less than manic, while there is no such thing as hyper-manic as manic is defined as the very fastest a mind and body can go. If you are stressed out and overactive but still able to sleep even an hour or two each night then you are not manic. You may be uncomfortably hypo-manic and needing help with being calmer, but not manic until sleep becomes impossible. Well, that is how I see it and it works for me. Hypo-manic may or may not be good. Mania tends to be destructive for self and for relationships so it is worth avoiding mania.
