Wikipedia’s description of Shingles starts with, “Shingles, also known as zoster or herpes zoster, is a viral disease characterized by a painful skin rash with blisters in a localized area.”
Reading that far, I was thinking, “This sounds nothing much like my one personal experience of Shingles.”
Yes, I had the painful skin rash with blisters. What I experienced was so much worse as I very much started to think I was going to die as I could not understand how within a few days I had become so very unwell. I was away from home when, this mysterious (to me) illness came on. When I eventually made it into a GP’s office I had only just closed the door behind me when that old GP, seeing the rash on my neck, said, “You’ve got shingles!”. I replied, “Oh thank goodness for that. I was so worried.”
This confused the old doctor and I needed to explain that simply knowing what was wrong with me was a disease with a name that people recover from was such a relief.
Well, he prescribed an ‘experimental’ anti-viral drug. I did not question its safety, took the tables (may have been capsules) as prescribed and within 24 hours I was ‘on the mend’. Within about a week I was completely over it and very much appreciating I had ‘got off lightly’.
Fourteen years, and its not come back.
But what of vaccine induced shingles? How common? How under-reported? Well, GBNews can only stay on the air if they present fairly balanced programming. This means there are several minutes of a man telling us the mRNA vaccines are safe and effective (without any evidence of that) which might make us think that vaccine induced shingles is rare, but is it? It is worth listening to the man who has been affected.
